A new, ancient Story.

Coimbra would not be the same without the charm of its river Mondego. The Ancients naming it “Munda”, a word corresponding to transparency, clarity, and purity. In medieval times, the suffix “ecus” was added, which means “dear”, transforming the word into “dear Monda”. The river, like a lover who seduces and protects the city of unique beauty, has inspired the myths and legends that characterize these ancient places on the edge of the World.

Among these emerge the stories of the Water Nymphs, mythological figures of extreme purity and delicacy who seduced travelers with their beauty and strength. Strength and Beauty of which the ancient stories of the city of Coimbra still sing, where divine women along the centuries fought to protect it and they were forever immortalized in the symbols of the City.

Ninfas do Mondego Suites aims to be a celebration of the purity, strength, and life of the ancient History of our city, restored to its eternal, almost divine Beauty.
